Boosting your self esteem

Boosting your self esteem is one task worth undertaking. It will improve the quality of your life in an instant.

It will change your current circumstances immediately. And it will enhance the overall value you put on yourself as a person.

So how do you go about boosting your self esteem rapidly and powerfully?

By changing what you focus on. But in order to change what you focus on you must first find out what that is.

Take out your self esteem journal (you do have one, right?) and start keeping a list of all the things you focus on in a day.

This is anything and everything you think about on any given day. It’s easier then you think. Because you’re probably going to notice that you focus on or think about the same things over and over again all day long.

That’s fine if they are positive and uplifting thoughts that help you in your task of boosting your self esteem. But if there not, then your unconsciously making yourself feel negative and even worse your causing yourself to have low self esteem.

Think about it right now. If you’re constantly thinking about what you’re doing wrong, or what you should be doing and your not, or what you did last week or last month that you regret, your not going to feel that happy and joyful.

Or what about all those times you made minor, insignificant little mistakes that make you shutter when you think about them? Or the mistakes you THINK are really significant and major.

See how all these negative thoughts can alter your level of self esteem.

You need to change what you focus on in order to boost your self esteem. Now I know I said you could do this immediately and rapidly, and you can. All it takes is a little conscious thinking and a self esteem journal to capture your thoughts that pop into your head during the day.

You can do it longer then one day if you choose. But you can capture the information you need in a very short period of time. Because you’ll notice from doing this exercise that you really do think about the same things over and over again.

Okay, so now you have the information. What do you do next?

Good question.

You start from this day forward saying the words, "cancel, cancel" to yourself every time you catch yourself thinking one of the old negative thoughts you captured in your self esteem journal.

This will stop the repetitive thought process and make you aware of what you’re thinking at that particular moment. If you can discipline yourself to say the words, "cancel, cancel" every time you have a negative thought, you will begin to consciously change what you’re focusing on.

Remember what you think about comes about. What you focus on you get more of.

If you want to help boosting your self esteem then you must think of yourself in a new and different way. You must see yourself as a lovable and capable person. It doesn’t matter what you’ve said or done in the past. What matters is what you do with your present and future moments.
