Weaken the ego strength that is running your life
The ego strength can be so powerful at times that we can't seem to snap out of it. We feel completely pulled toward negativity, gossip and drama so strongly at times that we believe we couldn't stop even if we tried.
That is ego strength throwing its weight around. The ego loves negativity, gossiping and drama. It feeds off it.
But you've got to remember that what you resist, persist. So don't try to stop your ego from being present or from the excitement of sharing bad news.
This will only strengthen the ego. Instead become aware of your ego by becoming aware of the real you that's behind the thoughts.
Think about it. The ego is mainly present in your own mind by the thoughts that you think.
That's why when you become aware of the thoughts your thinking you can begin to weaken the egos strength.
The ego can only over power you when you allow every thought to trigger an emotional reaction.
When you feel every word you think you are allowing the ego strength to intensify. That's what it wants.
It wants to run your life. It wants to make you feel, say and do things that keep the negative intensity going.
Eckhart Tolle talks about the stillness inside of you that is your true self. But for most of us the ego is so strong that we can't even feel the slightest bit of stillness or silence within ourselves.
But that is how you weaken the ego strength that is running your life. You must find time to be still and silent.
I don't call it meditation because some people get really intimidated by that word. They think that they have to sit for hours upon hours to reap the benefits.
I'm talking about taking short time outs during the day so you're not so consumed by every day demands.
When you go, go, go and never take the time to ever breathe deeply you are being dominated by the ego strength and you probably don't even realize it because your so busy.
That's how people go through life every day and then wonder where all the time has gone. Don't be one of those people. Stop and enjoy the simple everyday things of life.
Most of us are so caught up and consumed by our thoughts that we don't even realize that it's not really us who is living.
Our true self is silently waiting in the background for us to slow down enough to become aware of it.
The ego is powerful, yes, but to overpower it we must try less instead of try harder.
If you keep trying and trying and trying to find it; it as in yourself, you never will. Because it is not lost.
It's right inside of you where it has always been the whole time. Your just too busy running away from it to notice.
So you need to start by spending quite time with yourself. No TV, no computer, no iPad or smart phone. Just you and maybe a pen and paper but that's all.
Now you don't need to do this for hours to get the benefits. Just taking an extra 5 minutes in the morning or in the evening to sit still and breathe deeply. This will help you begin the process of feeling your inner stillness.
This process will start to weaken the ego's strength and give you more power over your feelings and actions. When your under the power of the ego you spend more time reacting then you do acting.
The ego is very strong in our world today and that is why it's become so negative and nasty.
It's time for all of us to regain our strength by becoming more aware of how we are reacting to life instead of living it.
To live life is freedom. To react to life is egoic.
Don't allow yourself to be a prisoner in your own mind. Break the ego strength by bring awareness into your everyday life.
Take time to breathe deeply, to smell the roses, to hug sincerely and to love unconditionally, you'll never regret it.
