Before the ink of your dreams dry.
Before pain convinces you to turn the page.
See that there is still hope to rewrite.
And make new what chance has now laid.
With our pens of choice, we are dreamers and writers.
With which we battle the darkness and become our own fighters.
Believe in the beauty of our best laid plans now know this always be true.
As Steinbeck once said, in a novel I've read, these plans may often go askew.
But though time doesn't wait to change and move on.
Neither do we nor our hearts.
We must always keep trying and never give in
To the fear that dreams fall apart.
For we must believe in the conviction of faith and hope for chance to meet us in half way.
And in peace we reside, with friends by our side, we will see that our hearts may be staid.
To a friend I do cherish, your dreams will not perish, for they come from a place pure and true.
I will live in the darkness to show you the light and the beauty of the future that awaits you.
And on that day when the ink does dry we will cry, not in sadness, but joy.
For the pain it will be gone and we will sing a new song as the truth will deploy.
Showing that with faith and with love and belief in oneself, we can always forever rewrite.
Before the ink dries, as the authors of lives, we can bathe all that was darkness in light. ♥
