Learning how to love yourself

Learning how to love yourself will be self rewarding and self fulfilling. You may feel like you can love others a lot easier then you can love yourself. The truth is – you must learn how to love yourself unconditionally first and then you can truly someone else second.

That might be hard for you to believe but loving deeply and unconditionally starts with yourself.

The way to know if your self love is unconditional is to become acutely aware of how you treat yourself. Here are four questions to answer about how you treat yourself right now.

1. Do you allow yourself to make mistakes WITHOUT beating yourself up about it for days and days?

2. Do you use kind and gentle words to reinforce your self love and self acceptance when things are going bad?

3. Would your life be easier or better if you could be or act like someone else?

4. Do you celebrate and reward yourself for a job well done, no matter how small or unimportant you believe it to be?

Think about these questions to allow yourself the room to answer them. Because if you give love to yourself when everything’s going right but take it away when you mess up, then that is conditional love.

Now think about the people around you…do you treat them with unconditional love and acceptance?

Learning how to love yourself will give you the freedom to love fully.

Here are four things you can do right now to build that deep, unconditional love for yourself and the people around you.

1. Start by shifting your self talk to a more positive and upbeat tone. No more running yourself in the dirt because you made a mistake.

2. Keep a gratitude journal. Each morning and night write down at least 10 things you’re personally grateful for. It should be a simple list. It should only take you about 5-7 minutes a day to count your blessings.

3. Every time you see yourself in the mirror – SMILE! Yes, give yourself a big smile to show yourself just how much you do love and appreciate yourself.

4. Celebrate and reward yourself every single step of the way! The rewards don’t have to be a huge party for everything. It could be as simple as 10 minutes of alone time, watching your favorite movie, anything that makes you happy.

Life can seem so routine and uninspiring if you don’t take the time to love and acknowledge yourself. You must be the first and the last person to compliment yourself.

Tell yourself you done a great job. Tell yourself how strong and powerful you are as soon as the feelings strike you.

Learning how to love yourself from the tips of your toes to the top of your head will change your whole perspective on life.

You’ll be happier. More energetic. More playful. More motivated. More accepting of yourself and others. And all around more loving.

Now congratulate yourself for reading this article. Tell yourself that you’re worth all the effort you put into learning how to love yourself more than any other person on this planet.

Why? Because only YOU can be the best YOU in this world.
