Surround yourself with nourishing people
The people you regularly associate with can and do have a huge impact on your self esteem.
That’s why you should really limit the amount of time you spend with toxic people. You will do better and go farther if you consistently hang around loving, positive and uplifting individuals. They will provide support, love and encouragement.
Nourishing people will also provide you with acceptance and honestly which are two things people with low self esteem need a lot of. Now don’t worry if your current family and friends do not fit in the categories listed above. Because you do not have to rely on them to support you with your self esteem building. If they do, that’s great. But if not, don’t fret. Also if your co-workers are less then energetic and upbeat stop going to break with them. You can say no. You’ll do better and feel better if you skip break and focus on growing as a person. Use the 15 minute break to read this article, complete a worksheet, read a quote or write in a journal. All of these alternative break activities with help boost your self esteem. You need people in your life who just flat out make you feel good! Then once you feel comfortable with yourself. They will help you build your self esteem faster than trying to do it all by yourself.
