Positive self image
If you have a positive self image it will reflect positively in your outer world. You’ll look, act and feel better about yourself and others will treat you the same.Having a positive self image is about treating yourself with respect, kindness and compassion.
Yes you should do onto others what you want done onto you but you first need to start with yourself.
And you can start by feeding your mind with words, images and affirmations that make you think, do and act confidently.
You must help yourself develop into the person you ultimately want to become.
So first know this –
It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks of you, good or bad, it matters most what you think of yourself.
In order to have high self esteem you must first begin with a positive self image, not what you look like on the outside but what you think you look like to others.
So take a minute now to write out how you currently see yourself.
- Do you see yourself as big or little?The way you see yourself is the most important image in your mind because it will determine how you live your life.
- How you interact with others.Take control of your self image by changing the picture you have of yourself.
Spend time developing your self love. Start by creating a vision board with pictures and words that make you happy and excited about your life.
Read self help books that inspire you to become a better person. And above all repeat affirmations to yourself all day loud.
Simply saying, “I love you”, or “Great job”, or “Keep up the good work”, or “You’re awesome”, will start the process of self love and acceptance.
A wonderful place to start when you’re building a positive self image is with positive affirmations. But don’t just say them to say them. Put some real feeling and emotions in them.
If you can’t see the picture of yourself very clearly right now then observe yourself interacting with others.
Because people will treat you exactly how you treat yourself. Do you feel like people are out to get you? Or are people very helpful and considerate?
Do you feel like others are kind, friendly and thoughtful? Or stuck up and only looking out for themselves.
Becoming aware of your interactions with others will tell you a lot about yourself. It will give you a firsthand look of how you treat yourself.
Because what you give out, you get back. All of the messages that you’re sending out about who you believe you are people are picking up.
Developing a positive self image will allow you the personal freedom to be, do and have anything you want in this world.
You act in accordance with how you see yourself. So if you see a week, incompetent, fat, lazy person then that’s how you’re going to act.
On the other hand, if you see yourself as someone who goes all out for what they want, a person who is healthy, motivated, and capable then that’s how you’ll live your life.
