Self esteem building is 100% your responsibility. No one can give it to you and no one can take it away. You have the power to decide on how wonderful you feel and how adventurously you live your life. And you also hold the power to create your life’s vision and manifest it into a living reality. Sound good to you? Okay then let’s look at the 4 major self esteem building activities that will have the biggest impact on all areas of your life. First off on our list of activities – Journaling! Yes, journaling is such a huge personal development activity that is still overlooked. The question still arises - how can journaling make me feel better? Well journaling is a releasing activity. It can be a very useful tool when it comes to releasing negative energy, negative thoughts, negative feelings, disappointments, setbacks, frustration and rejection. Instead of keeping all that energy balled up inside just waiting to explode. You simple write through it by releasing all those hurtful words and damaging emotions. I’m telling you, it’s one of the greatest self esteem building activities that I know of. Why? Because anything that make you feel good and empowered is boosting your self love, self acceptance and self respect. Next we have – Physical exercise! Getting physically fit is another activity that will have a lasting effect on your whole life. I’m not saying you have to be the next body building champion (unless that’s your goal). I’m talking about being active enough to maintain a healthy weight and physical mobility. If your overweight than you don’t feel as good as you could. And you can’t get around as easy as you could. It’s very difficult to boost your self esteem when you don’t ever have the energy to think self esteem. So here’s what you do – record your body numbers as they are right now and then decide where you want them to be. This is a perfect opportunity to take out your journal and write this all down. • How much do you weigh? Now take all your measurements. It’s easy, you don’t need anything special. Just something you can wrap around your body parts and measure it. Here’s what you measure - • Chest• Waist • Hips • Right and left arms • Right and left thighs • Right and left calves Okay now you know. Now set a goal for what you want your numbers to be. Numbers are a lot easier to measure then weight. Next on our list of self esteem building activities – Healthy eating! Keep a food journal for 2 weeks to see what you’re eating or not eating. It’s the best way to change bad eating habits. Once you know what you’re eating, ask yourself if what you’re eating is in alignment with feeling good and looking good. If not then you’ll need to make some changes. Think of food as fuel for your body, not just something to fill your empty stomach. My personal suggestion would be to add as much raw food to your day as possible. Start by adding raw vegetables to every meal. Once you start feeling the energy surges you’ll want to add more. Trust me! And last but certainly not least on our list of the 4 major self esteem building activities– a good night’s rest! In order to feel good all-around you need a healthy amount of rest each night. That amount is different for everyone. You may require 8 – 9 hours to feel rested. Or you may feel great on 6 – 7 hours a night. You be the judge by how rested you feel. The trick is to go to bed at the same time every night and get up at the same time every day. Your body and your mind will get used to the sleep pattern that you set. Another trick to a good nights sleep is to not go to bed with your mind highly active. Quite the mind first and the body will follow. That’s why I personally don’t recommend that you watch TV right before you go to bed. TV keeps the mind quite while you’re watching it and then highly active as soon as you hit the power button. So if you find that your mind it too active to sleep, try one of these releasing activities – • Write in your journal.• Pray. • Do yoga or stretching. • Read something inspiring or motivating. You want to go to bed as relaxed as possible. These 4 major self esteem building activities will help you build lifelong habits that will lead you down a more self aware, self developed and self loving path.
