Self help advice #1

Read something that is motivational or inspirational every single day.

This could be an article, a book, a magazine, a poem, a quote, etc. Anything that makes you feel happy, enlighten or inspired in any way.

If you can do this first thing in the morning that would be a great start to your day and really set the tone for how your day is going to be.

Get control of your inner voice. Don't allow yourself to talk bad or negatively about yourself anymore. This only creates anger and frustration with yourself that can ruin a conversation, a day, a month or even a whole year if you let it go unmanaged.

No more putting yourself down or calling yourself names. Trust me this activity doesn't serve you or anyone you come in contact with.

So the next time you catch yourself - letting yourself have it - literally stop what your doing and completely change the physiology of your body.

For instance, if you're sitting down, stand up and shake your body out. If you're standing up then just shake your body out or stretch a little, maybe do a little dance to lighten the mood. Moving your body really does change your thoughts at the moment.

Self help advice #3

Get a hobby. Find something you truly like or even love to do and do it at least once a week. This simple act will help open you up and expand your creativity.

As social being, we need to have an outlet where we allow ourselves to be creative. It really helps to quiet the mind and bring peace into your life when you participate in something that you love.

If it's been awhile and you can't think of anything that you love doing then take a look at this short list to help you get the creative juices flowing -

- Writing.

- Taking pictures.

- Working on cars.

- Volunteering.

- Scrapbooking.

- Playing sports.

- Knitting.

Develop a deep love for yourself and others.

Don't be so mean. I know a lot of people who are unhappy and even depressed these days because they have forgotten how to love.

We're so busy doing that we have replaced love with accomplishments. Instead of loving ourselves or loving someone else just because of who they are and not what they've accomplished is very rare these days.

But if you can find it in yourself to love unconditionally then you'll be a much happier and more livelier person. You will feel joy and peace on the inside that you can share with others. Life will seem to flow a whole lot easier.

Self help advice #5

Be mindful of everything that comes out of your mouth. Say to others what you would want said to you.

Give heartfelt compliments to yourself and others. Say please and thank you whenever necessary. Don't use profanity in inappropriate places.

Really just become aware of how your words are representing you. Then decide if it's in a positive or negative way.
