The power of positive thinking
is not just hype or a fad

The power of positive thinking has been written about and talked about for many, many years and the power of it is still very much alive.

Positive thinking is not just hype or a fad; it truly does work and is necessary if you want to experience high levels of self esteem.

It will help you accomplish lots of other things too but loving and accepting yourself is the beginning of personal development and the recognition of positive thinking.

I really believe that before you can create any kind of positive change in your life you have to become aware of your thinking.

You must watch your thoughts to know if they are positive or negative. You can also become aware of your feelings and actions to know what you are thinking most of the time.

Really it’s not hard to figure out if you are using the power of positive thinking or not.

Here a few questions to help you see in which direction you lean most of the time with your thinking – negative or positive.

- Do you ever say, “If I didn’t have bad luck I’d have no luck at all.”?

- When something bad happens to you do you say, “I knew that way going to happen because it always does.”?

- Do you focus on your problems or on finding solutions?

- Do you get very angry easily? Not irritated or upset but angry.

If you answered yes to most or all of these questions then you are probably not using the power of positive thinking. You’re most likely using thinking against you by always focusing and concentrating and talking about the things you don’t want to happen.

Positive thinking can help you see the benefits and the lessons within every negative situation. It can also help you see the good in others and it can help you become aware of the greatness that resides inside of you.

If you want to live a rich and rewarding life then you need to be able to focus your thinking on finding out what it is that you’re good at. Then you must believe that you’re good at it and use your inner strength to master that part of you.

And that’s hard to do if you are always in a state of constant negativity. If you’re always putting yourself down then it’s much harder to uncover your talents.

I’m not saying that I want you to repeat “I’m happy. I’m happy. I’m happy.” When your obviously not.

But I do want you to state positive things about yourself. (If you just thought there’s nothing positive about me, then you already know what direction your thinking normally takes.)

Using the power of positive thinking is slightly different than repeating positive affirmations. Affirmations are great and powerful if you truly believe what you’re saying and use a lot of feelings and emotions with them.

I’m talking about complimenting yourself, giving yourself credit for a job well done and seeing yourself with kind eyes.

Yes it’s nice to have others do this for you but it means so much more when it comes from a place of truth and honesty inside yourself.

If it feels fake or forced then spend some time writing out your good qualities and all the things you’re good at. This will help you focus on your true self and not some made up person.

The power of positive thinking works. And it works for everyone who tries it. It’s not hype or just a fad its power has been known for a long time.

If you’re not using it to live your best life – you should be.
